All donations given when registering for the event will go towards funding this year’s Penrose Poetry Prize: Awarded for Excellence in Poetry from LGBTQIA+ Writers.

We created the Penrose Poetry Prize in 2020 to specifically feature poetry from LGBTQIA+ Writers and bring awareness to more LGBTQIA+ identifying artists and their work. We also wanted to create another avenue to compensate underserved LGBTQIA+ artists with an honorarium in an artist field that so often goes unpaid. 

Your donation at the door will go directly towards the $200, $100, and $50 cash awards to the three winners of the prize, the honorarium to the guest judge of the issue. Thank you for your support of the arts and we can’t wait to see what everyone submits to the Penrose this year.
