Haven't you ever loved a Keepsake? A token what evokes in you a mem'ry so sweet and comfortin'? Perhaps a bitter artefact of hist'ry's odium to keep your wits online! Yes, indeed! Yet cherished as they are, would you expect their significance to speak to a stranger? Nay! And though long-dead Frandace shan't be testifyin' on behalf of this careworn coffer's mementi any time soon, it's plain enough that Keepsakes hoarded by heartful hand are true and precious treasures!
Ha ha, sorry for carrying on, I was on my bluetooth teaching my apprentice antiquary how to appraise the sentimental value of discarded Keepsakes.
Speaking of which, this time at The Spill we'll hear about the emotional bonds between persons and their items; for example, a person and a mysterious sheaf of human hair, or a person and the jelly-stained ear of a plush rabbit, or a person and a 28-year-old slice of gum. But, most intriguingly, we will also learn of how and why these items came to bear the weight of human emotion!
Come to The Spill and hear true stories told live! This time our theme will be Keepsake, inspired by the poetry of Kal Walters! All the stories will be true, straight from the mouths of audience members, all relating in whichever way to the theme, Keepsake.
Our dear friends from PreFunk Beer Bar Nampa will be on site to move beers and perhaps even move you to tears with the backstories of said beers.__
Open-mic, true stories told live!
Ft. local poet, writer and artist Kal Walters.
