Sovereign Poetry

If God Be A Woman

If God be a woman, she be black. Constantly resurrecting and replanting within the same wounds that YOU were buried at...

So flammable that she communes with the wind.
her breast be the highlands and the birds as her oversees.

If God be a woman, she be ruthless mix with forgiving, Karma as her sister so be careful not to twist her.

If God be a woman, she be love if it meant freedom, when you hear her voice, nothing else matters. Tending over depicting her daughters is more than this poem therefore nothing else matters.

she be power and fragility, the dark and the light; fluidity

If God be a woman she be black because if you’d like I could pull out the facts there’s no other woman like my mama. Skin rich as a soil we bare our feet on.

We often dance so freely, never taking a moment thinking how graciously beautiful she is alone...

If God be woman, she be mother nature too there’s no separation, she's more than your next ideation she holds the practicality and the faith we all desperately cling onto.
