D’mani Thomas
D'mani Thomas is a queer, Black visual theorist, cultural strategist, spoken word poet and writer from Oakland, California (occupied Ohlone territory). D’mani has received residencies from SHOW US YOUR SPINES through Lambda Literary (2020). He has received fellowships from Foglifter literary journal (2020), Bakanal de Afrique through Afro Urban Society (2020), and The Watering hole (2020). He is a two-time member of CAL Slam ( 2017 & 2018), representing UC Berkeley at CUPSI, an international spoken word competition, earning the "Best Writing As a Team" accolade in 2018. His work has been published by The Auburn Avenue, Youth Speaks, MARY: A Journal of New Writing, and elsewhere. If you have horror movie recommendations, send them his way.
